Sportsman's Lake
Located behind the Fairgrounds off 2nd Ave/Hwy 31. Free
They have a big lake and you can feed the ducks. There is a paved walking/biking trail around the lake and a nice little wildflower garden at the other.  At the very end of the road that goes around the lake, there is a mountain bike trail-3 in fact.  In the summer and most warm weekends, you can ride the miniature train for $2 or let the kids ride the miniature Ferris Wheel or the carousel for $1 a ride. The carousel is not safe for little kids alone, it goes really fast-they will let Mommy's ride free. The Ferris wheel is a nice safe thrill. They also have ice cream and other snacks at reasonable prices in the snack bar. I recommend the 'birthday cake' ice cream.  The paddleboats are for 2 people only and are $3 per person.  The boats are new for 2008 and are much harder to pedal than the old ones, don't expect younger children to be able to handle one alone.
